TCC - Time Capsule Camera ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address and display name when you create an account
- User Content: Videos you record or upload to time capsules
- Comments: Text comments you add to videos
- Capsule Data: Capsule names, seal dates, and member lists
Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
- Location Data: When you record a video, we may capture the location where it was recorded (with your permission)
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including features used and time spent
Permissions We Request
- Camera: To record videos for your time capsules
- Microphone: To capture audio with your videos
- Photo Library: To allow you to upload existing videos (limited to 3 per capsule) and optionally save unsealed clips to your camera roll
- Location: To optionally tag videos with recording location, and to optionally unlock capsules when you return to a pinned location
- Face ID: To unlock your account without typing your password (optional)
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the TCC service
- To store and deliver your video time capsules
- To enable sharing capsules with friends and family
- To send notifications about capsule activity (new videos, capsule openings)
- To improve and optimize the app experience
- To respond to your requests and support inquiries
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication systems
- Access controls limiting who can view your capsules
- Regular security assessments
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in these circumstances:
- With Capsule Members: Videos and comments are shared with other members of the same capsule
- Service Providers: With trusted third parties who assist in operating our service (cloud hosting, analytics)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
Your Rights and Choices
- Access: You can view your account information in the app
- Update: You can update your display name at any time
- Delete: You can delete your account and all associated data from the Profile screen
- Leave Capsules: You can leave any capsule you're a member of
- Permissions: You can revoke app permissions through your device settings
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. When you delete your account:
- Your profile information is permanently deleted
- You are removed from all capsules you're a member of
- Capsules you created will be deleted along with all videos from all members
- Your authentication credentials are permanently removed
This action cannot be undone.
Children's Privacy
TCC is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Videos in sealed capsules are retained until the capsule is opened and you choose to delete them. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights
